NUCA Supports New Mexico Congressional Candidate Dan East

NUCA supports Dan East, an association member for 13 years, in his bid for a seat in the House of Representatives.

NUCA has announced its support of Daniel K. East — NUCA Senior Vice President and President of NUCA member company Cone Construction — in his bid for a seat in the House of Representatives in place of outgoing U.S. Representative Tom Udall.

“Dan understands the importance of building and refurbishing America’s infrastructure, and he has a working knowledge of how government can impact the operations of small businesses, including those of construction companies,” said NUCA CEO Bill Hillman. “He would be a champion in the United States House of Representatives on a number of important issues.”
During the announcement of his candidacy, East, a Republican, stated, “For years I have traveled to Washington asking for support and commitments from the federal government and little has been accomplished. Consequently, I have become disillusioned with the current elected officials and have decided to run myself — as an outsider and a small businessman — to bring positive change to New Mexico.”

East’s company, Cone Construction Co. of Albuquerque, is a family-run firm specializing in sewer and water, road, highway and bridge and treatment plant construction. Currently the NUCA Senior Vice President, he has been a member of the association for 13 years and has served on the association’s Executive Committee and Member and Chapter Relations Committee.

He is also a member of NUCA of New Mexico (formerly Rio Grande Underground Contractors Association) and has served for several years as its president, winning, in the process, NUCA’s Outstanding Chapter President of the Year Award.

The NUCA PAC Committee has already agreed to contribute $5,000 to East’s campaign. Anyone wishing to assist East in competing with opponents who are well funded professional politicians can send a check payable to Dan East for Congress to 1380 Rio Rancho Blvd. SE #296, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Please call (505) 414-1789 for credit card processing. (NOTE: The FEC limits individual donations to $2,300 per person for each of the primary and general elections. Corporate donations cannot be accepted.)
