UUUURAA!

I have been thinking about my father a lot lately. He died at the young age of 63 in the year 2000. He had great wisdom and insight, as well as the ability to steer you in the right direction while you thought it was your idea. He once told me that you cannot conquer the world on your own. Surround yourself with the best and you then at least stand a chance of succeeding.

The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) exemplifies that statement. Our members get the Big Picture; they understand the work it takes to be successful and the importance of getting involved. They are the elite, the best of the best.

Our contractor members have vast knowledge and experience in the infrastructure industry. They are hardworking individuals full of the passion that helps create a strong NUCA “army.” This month, I want to thank them for all that they do for NUCA and for the industry. They are a special group of people who get little respect for what they do even though their national impact and historical contribution help sustain one of the greatest countries in the world. Infrastructure is a vital need and the earned right of all Americans. We are the “marines” who just go get the job done, leaving the glory for others. UUUURAA!!

Our associate members are true pioneers who listen to our needs and create the equipment and tools we need to get the job done. I cannot say enough about the technological advancement of equipment, software and other resources now being used in the industry. I want to thank our associates this month for all they do and for all their support. Building a better product builds a better America. The associates get it and deserve a lot of credit for shaping our American dream! UUUURAA!!

This month, stand a little taller, be a little prouder and pay yourself some respect for what you do. We all know how hard, how risky and how dangerous creating and maintaining a strong American infrastructure system is. The U.S. Marine Corps is a quiet yet proud bunch of Americans who deserve our greatest respect. NUCA members are a quiet yet proud bunch of Americans who deserve great respect too! Without you how great would America be? UUUUURAA!!
